The video “Black Hole” highlights the limitations of digital photography: A person dressed in black removes snow from the ground until visually becoming one with the terrain. The lighting conditions make it look as though the person were disappearing in front of the camera.
Johanna Reich (b. 1977 in Minden) began her studies in 2000, attending universities in Munster and Cologne among other places. From 2006 onwards she joined Prof. Wim Wenders’ master class. She currently lives and works in Cologne. In 2017 she was awarded the Rhineland cultural award for women. Johanna Reich’s works are regularly showcased in exhibitions in Germany and abroad.
